I LOVE Arizona!
How fun is that LOVE sign? I'm so glad we got to see that. It's by the Civic Center near Old Town in Scottsdale. We got there right before the sun went down and it was a fun area to walk around and explore.
The weather was absolutely perfect while we there. It stayed in the 70s and 80s all week. If it didn't get up into triple digits in the summer, I could totally live there.
We went to the pool. We walked in the sunshine. We visited the Desert Botanical Garden. What a beautiful place!
We watched the sunset there and I got to practice silhouette photography. It helps to have cool cactus shapes in the background. This was actually a sculpture and I love how it looks against the sky!
They had a special seasonal display of lights that were fun and a bit challenging to photograph. There several areas of the garden that had special lights set up. It was very crowded though!
A big highlight for me was going to Becky Higgins' office to meet her and her team. I actually met her at CHA back in 2013, but it was so cool this time to go and visit her office that I've seen so much about online. They were all so gracious and kind and made me feel very welcome. Steph is friends with all of them so it was super sweet of her to be our chauffeur and tour guide that day.
The neatest part of the whole experience for me was how much time Becky spent talking to my Mom. She was genuinely interested in her and wanted to know about her experience with the Project Life App. She just went out of her way to make her feel special and even posted this photo and caption on her Instagram!
Oh, and Kari Holt (with the dog) was so awesome to come in to meet us that day because it was her day off. How nice is that?! She and I have a special connection right now because she served a mission in Iowa and my daughter is there now. It's fun to have that common bond!
Of course, one of the best parts of the whole trip was getting to see Steph! When she posted this picture on her Instagram, she summed it up so perfectly.
Our friendship really has evolved and grown over time and now we are lucky that our kids are friends as well. So awesome! We love it when they come visit us in Utah and it was so great to visit them in Arizona. I'm hoping that we can do that again because it sure was fun. Hooray for sunny weather, yummy cupcakes, sightseeing, and fabulous friends!
