Watch and learn what's new in iOS11 with video tutorials

I'll be the first to admit that I don't love watching videos. I would usually much rather just skim through an article and pick out the pieces of information I need. That is slowly changing for me though, especially when it comes to learning new technology and techniques. Sometimes it really does help to see something in action.

Yesterday, my hubby and I watched several videos about what's new in iOS11 for iPhones and iPads and I have to admit that I learned a lot of new things. I even learned about things that were already available in earlier versions that I wasn't aware of. I decided I need to be better about watching tutorials. It's kind of silly to spend all the money on such fancy devices and not really know how to use them to their full potential!

This has inspired me to begin a new regular series here on my blog called "Watch and Learn" where I will share all sorts of great tutorials and resources. I have so many that I want to share with all of you!

It's not always easy to find tutorials that are worth watching, but I thought these two from Everything Apple Pro were informative and easy to follow.

Of course, not everyone uses an iPhone or iPad but you can search for videos for the type of devices you use. It's worth a few minutes to get more familiar with the technology that you use in your everyday life.

And because I know someone will ask...I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do about getting a new phone yet. I really love my iPhone 7plus. I think it's fabulous and I love the big size and I really enjoy the portrait mode in the camera. The new portrait mode updates really tempt me and will probably lead me to get either an iPhone 8plus or an iPhone X (but wow, what a price tag!) I plan to pass my iPhone 7plus on to my son because he spends a ton of time reading on his little iPhone 6 and I know he would benefit from the large screen.

Here's the Apple video about the new portrait mode features.
