International Museum Day

If you are looking for an idea for a Friday field trip this week, you may want to consider going to a museum since it's International Museum Day on May 18th. I happen to be a bit of a museum junkie and I'm happy to say that my kids love them as well. We have had some great local visits and we often include museums in our travel itineraries. I thought it would be fun to share some of my past scrapbook layouts featuring a few of our museum visits.

Search for a museum close to you and make a day of it. Take your camera, but be sure to check the rules on photography. Some museums don‟t allow any photography while some ok pictures as long as you don‟t use a flash. As you can see from my layouts, I love to take pictures of signs and information plaques and use them for journaling. Many museums have gift shops that sell postcards or small prints of the exhibits that you can use in your scrapbooks. I have to admit that the gift shops are often a big reason we love museums as they usually have amazing books and fun toys that you don't see in traditional stores.

What would your dream museum trip be? Is there a museum somewhere in the world that is on your dream list of destinations? Write it down and turn your wish into a goal. Find an online picture or the museum or a featured artist‟s works and include it on your goal layout to motivate you.
