Documenting food while traveling

I’m on the road right now so my mind is on documenting travels. A big part of the travel experience for me is food. Ok, a big part of everyday life for me is food! I do love to eat! When I plan our trips, I spend a lot of time reading restaurant reviews to find out the best local food. I don’t want to eat at the same chains we eat out at home, I want to experience something new. It’s part of the overall experience for me and it helps us make meaningful memories.

Here’s a recent post I shared on Instagram:

We are in Cleveland today and my research totally paid off. I ate the most delicious pastrami melt of my life at Slyman’s Deli. I could only eat about half of it. I love to take pictures of the outside of a restaurant with the sign and of course, I like snapping photos of the food. It’s fun to get a menu or some scenery in the background for context. I also use these tips when I eat out in my own town, it’s just fun to go somewhere new though!

How do you decide where to eat when traveling? Do you take pictures? Do you share them with others or post them online? I have found that sharing them on Instagram can add even more to the experience as others make comments and even suggestions for other places to eat.

im still traveling for several more days so be sure to follow my posts on Instagram and join in the fun!
