Second Quarter Creative Goals

I’m so glad I set goals for the first quarter of the year. Making a list and sharing it publicly was the main reason I got any of these things accomplished at all. I copied the list to a Trello board and Trello automatically put each item into its own separate card. This was so motivating to me and I loved archiving each card as I completed the task. I’ve decided that this is going to be a new quarterly routine for me.

Before I list my new goals, I thought it would be useful to share the items from last quarter. I didn’t get everything done and there were a few big ones that I didn’t even come close on. That’s ok, I’m going to be gentle with myself about that because we had a lot happening as a family with illnesses and broken bones and such. Here are the items I completed:

  1. Finish putting away Christmas decorations

  2. Create a vision board for my word of the year

  3. Change letterboard for January

  4. Change letterboard for February

  5. Change letterboard for March

  6. Complete Becky Higgins personal and family yearbook course

  7. Create free download for January Quirky holidays

  8. Create free download for February Quirky holidays

  9. Create free download for March Quirky holidays

  10. February product release

  11. March product release

  12. Post 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) on this blog (missed 2 days)

  13. Teach 2 classes on memory keeping to a local church group

  14. Create seasonal scrapbook pages

  15. Empty one binder (I have several old binders filled with old articles and class materials that are outdated)

  16. Download all Flickr photos and reorganize Flickr account. Backup and delete hubby’s Flickr account.

  17. Do my January roundup

  18. Do my February roundup

  19. Do my March roundup

  20. Scan more documents to attach to family history files

  21. Update LinkedIn Profile

  22. Create an art journal page

  23. Finish one Udemy course (online learning)

  24. Finish one Lynda.com course (online learning)

  25. Attend a musical performance

  26. Plan travel experiences for this year

  27. Cook a birthday dinner for my Mom

  28. Read a book to work toward my goal of 30 books this year

  29. Write a review on Goodreads after completing book

  30. Read another book to work toward my goal of 30 books this year

  31. Write a review on Goodreads after completing book

  32. Read another book to work toward my goal of 30 books this year

  33. Write a review on Goodreads after completing book

  34. Read another book to work toward my goal of 30 books this year

  38. Complete Ali Edwards Hello Story 2 class (I changed this one from a different course)

I had set 50 goals and I completed 38 of them which is pretty good considering the circumstances. Some of the goals I set were just too big. Some of them didn’t matter as much once I got going on my year. I’ll carry a few of them over to this quarter’s list.

Here are my goals for the 2nd Quarter of 2019:

  1. Huge focus on scrapbooking - complete at least 100 pages (BIG goal, I know!)

  2. Finish at least one photobook

  3. Teach my parents how to use ancestry.com

  4. Start working on family history again

  5. Upload digitized videos to online account to share with my family

  6. Fix metadata on old scanned photos and upload to Google photos + share with family

  7. Create an art journal page

  8. Finish one of the classes in my Ali Edwards class account

  9. Create free download for April Quirky holidays (already done!)

  10. Create free download for May Quirky holidays

  11. Create free download for June Quirky holidays

  12. April product release

  13. May product release

  14. June product release

  15. April roundup

  16. May roundup

  17. June roundup

  18. Post 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) on this blog

  19. Attend a musical theater performance

  20. Attend a symphony performance

  21. Read a book to work toward my goal of 30 books this year

  22. Write a review on Goodreads after completing book

  23. Read another book to work toward my goal of 30 books this year

This is such a great way to keep myself going on long-term projects and to stay focused on my word for the year (STORY). I’m excited to get started!
