Courage is one of those words that I really should think about more often. There are many ways to look at it, but being courageous is often part of our everyday life.

I was in a funk all day yesterday and I decided to open up some of my files of digital supplies and look for a creative project. For some reason, mixed media and art journal pages always seem to make me feel better and I proved that to myself once again. I saw this sweet little girl in the Have Courage and Be Kind kit from Little Butterfly Wings and she just tugged at my heart strings.

I thought about my daughter and how brave she is to be out on her own and serving a mission. I reviewed the many courageous people in my life. I even thought about myself. I have to do hard things on a regular basis. But you know what? I get them done. Then I was filled with both an overwhelming sadness and enormous gratitude for the courage of so many around the world.

It's fascinating to me that a few images on a canvas can evoke these emotions. I so grateful that they do. This little page brought me comfort on a down day. The little girl is strong. Even though she isn't exactly sure how, she knows things will work out. She has courage and so do I.

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.”
