Last month I posted a picture of my daughter's hands next to my mom's hands after they got pre-wedding manicures. A few of you commented that I should have gotten my hands in the photo. You know what's cool? Without me even mentioning any of that, our photographer thought to have the 3 of us pose for this picture on Riley's wedding day. I love it so much. And yes, I'm so geeky that I wore my Apple watch to my daughter's wedding. I did at least put a pretty silver band on it. I'm the only daughter in my family and Riley's the only daughter in our family so this is a very special 3 generation photo. I love my Mom and I love my girl. So glad we got to all share the joy of this day!

I have 10 beautiful photos to share from my daughter's wedding reception. Riley and Ryan have been married for one month now and they are so happy! We love them both so much!

1. The darling couple in front of the Heritage Gardens reception center in Sandy, Utah. It was a beautiful venue.
2. Our family of five!
3. Love that our photographer shot the little details like flowers and rings. He did a great job with everything! Scott Hart of Sound Image Productions.
4. This old ladder made for an amazing display. I had a wonderful friend help me with this project. It was filled with photos of the couple, wedding favors (succulents), flowers, lights, and cute signs.
5. We gave out succulents as wedding favors. I have quite a few around my house since we had some extras and they make me happy every time I see them.
6. Ryan and Riley in the garden. Summer weddings are so pretty!
7. We went all out on the food and had appetizers, Italian sodas, an ice sculpture filled with fruit, and a dessert bar. Everything was delicious!
8. Black cherry forest cake topped with sugar flowers - yum!
9. Happy together. They are a perfect match for each other.
10. We had a fun sendoff for them with light up fiber optic wands (from amazon) like the kind you buy for parades in Disneyland.

It was a wonderful event and a very happy occasion for our family. ❤️❤️

At the end of a very long day that ended with a very long meeting, we finally got dinner at Brio in City Creek. As we left, I noticed these lights and I asked my 2 tired guys to stop so I could take some pictures. They very willingly obliged because they know this makes me happy. I love catching these little moments and the act of stopping to take a picture makes me pause to appreciate my life and the world around me. So grateful to always have a camera with me! ❤️📱❤️

Check out me and my bad self! I made fresh salsa tonight and it was delicious. Tomatoes from my garden for extra credit. 😂 Googled “The best fresh salsa recipe” and it led me to a recipe by that exact name on allrecipes.com 🍅 I only put in half the onions because hubby doesn’t like them and only used half the jalapeño (without seeds) because I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy food. 🌶 It was soooooo good! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We went through 5 homes in the Park City showcase of homes and did a little dreaming. It was fun to snap pictures of cool design ideas, but my favorite shot is this one of me and hubby together. Just hanging out with each other is my favorite thing to do.

Even at the end of one of the busiest months of my life, I can still take a few minutes to roundup my memories with my monthly roundup tools. I love having a record of the ordinary and extraordinary events that have happened during the past month, as well as a list of what I've watched, read, and listened to. This is what memory keeping is all about! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You guys, I made it! I survived my daughter's wedding! 😂 I bought this sign a few months ago and I've been excited to reach the day when it would be true. We are all so thrilled with how everything turned out. Everything was beautiful, especially the bride! Most importantly, she married the exact right man for her and they are so very happy. ❤️❤️

These two got married today! ❤️❤️ I’ll be sure to share more photos once I get them from our photographer. Look at this masterpiece he captured last week at the First Look shoot. Today, I kept my phone in my purse and let the professional do his job. I’m happy with that choice because I felt present in the moment. It was a beautiful day celebrating a very special couple! So happy! ❤️❤️

I had a wonderfully relaxing afternoon today reading through a stack of creative magazines. My favorite one @bellagracemagazine had this quote and I just had to snap a photo of it so I could remember it. I think I need to hang this one up somewhere visible so I can see it often. Tonight was the bridal and first-look photo shoot for my daughter and her fiancé. A generous friend let us use her amazing yard and it really was like something out of a fairytale. It’s all I can do to keep from sharing glimpses of the beautiful bride! We will all just have to settle for this shot of gorgeous flowers instead. 💕 next Saturday is the big day! 💕

So I had a little scare last week when I had some intense pain in the back of my arm that radiated down my arm and into my chest. I went to the ER because I didn’t dare mess around with something that could be serious. My dad has had 3 heart attacks and my uncle died of a sudden massive heart attack at age 50. I’m 49 and have Type 2 diabetes so with that + my family history, I was scared. Thankfully, it was not a heart attack, but they said I did the right thing by coming in because women present different symptoms from men for heart attacks, and mine were concerning.

The ER doctor thought I had a pinched nerve and some muscular pain around that so he put me on a steroid taper and some muscle relaxers. A week later the pain is much better so I think it was the right diagnosis. He also referred me for a stress test just to be sure nothing was going on with my heart.

I did the test today and also had an ultrasound on my heart and I’m so happy and relieved that everything looks great! ❤️ Yay! That’s been a worry in the back of my mind for years so I feel like a weight has been lifted! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you have a health concern that worries you, get it checked. Also, be sure you know the symptoms of heart attacks for both men and women. Google and learn! ❤️

So it's already August 6th, but I feel like I'm just getting a handle on the fact that this month has actually arrived. In just 12 days, my baby girl is getting married! It's a fun and exciting time for our family and we love our soon to be son-in-law already.
The bride and groom are from different cities so we will be having two different receptions. That also means we will be doing some traveling. Obviously, that means that August is going to be a busy month around here!
Planning a wedding and expanding our family have given me lots of new ways to approach creativity and I'm excited to share some of those bits of inspiration here over the next few months.

This is my July Roundup and I'm proud to say that I've been doing this routine since January of 2006.What's a roundup you ask? It's simply the act of answering some prompts each month and documenting them for your own records. That might mean on a scrapbook layout, in a journal, a blog post, or as a social media post. It's an easy and doable way to get a snapshot of your life each month. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've used my Monthly Memories card collection and also a card from my New Beginnings set to create a scrapbook layout with all the details of my July roundup. I typed up my journaling in the Over App (or you could easily use a program like Photoshop Elements) and then I put the page together in the Project Life App. Now my month is documented and this will be a great page for this year's photo book!

I've varied and refined the prompts a bit each year and I feel like I've really got them dialed in now. In fact, this is the most simplified list I've ever used but I feel like it gave me the best framework I've ever used. These are the details I am filling in for each month:

Summer sandals on a sad Saturday. Attended the funeral for a sweet 13 year old young friend who was killed in a car accident. Such a great kid from an amazing family. ❤️

Had the best time hanging out with my sweet friend Steph @modernphotosolutions and 2 of her awesome kids. We ate pizza, got caught up on each other’s lives and the kids played video games. We’ve been doing this for many years now when Steph visits the Salt Lake area. Such a wonderful tradition! Love catching up with all of them! ❤️

I’ve got a TON going on in my life right now, but I’m enjoying a few days away in the Heber Valley. So happy to find some time to get lost in a good book!

I had one of the busiest months of my life so I will be making several more pages to document everything that happened in June. I love having a recap page for each month & it really helps me feel like I've captured what our life was like at this particular moment in time. I love looking back through past months and I'm super grateful for the things that I'm recording because of my simple Monthly Memories and calendar cards. I mixed these with some cute summer cards from #inacreativebubble and kept it easy with the #projectlifeapp - hooray for that! 👍🏻
Just a few of our June memories include: lots of wedding planning for Riley (48 more days!), a big 50th birthday party bash for Jeff, family visits, and quite a bit of gardening. Alex and I finished off our six month service mission doing family history work at the Riverton family history library. Its been an amazing experience and I'm so proud of his willing and meaningful service. ❤️
