Iowa and other thoughts
If you follow me on Instagram you already know that we had a big weekend around here!
My daughter Riley has been called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon church) and she will be serving in Iowa. She leaves in October and we are all excited for her big adventure! We've been hitting the internet to learn all about Iowa since none of us have ever been there. I can tell already that it will be the perfect place for her. She's really excited and looking forward to a time of meaningful service. One thing I love about our church is that young people (and some who aren't so young) volunteer their own time and resources to go out and serve around the world. When she turned in her papers, she had no idea where she would go, but she was willing to serve anywhere. We are all so happy that Iowa is her new favorite state!
In other news, my son Alex has been suffering with a kidney stone since last Wednesday. He finally passed it last night and we were all very happy about that as well. We may have made a few jokes about a Father's Day delivery. Poor guy! So glad he finally got some relief!
As you can tell, we've had a lot going on the last few days. I'm truly hoping for a more mellow week this week. Life keeps us all guessing though so I'm not going to plan on anything!
If there are any Iowans out there, I'd love to hear anything about your state!
