Scrapping with the Seasons - January edition
I’ve thought about this for several years now and decided to finally challenge myself to play along with this idea. I plan to scrap with the seasons this year. What does that mean? Well, for me it is easy to get motivated to create pages around the themes that I am currently thinking about. In January, that happens to be new beginnings, goals, New Year’s celebrations, and winter. The twist is that I won’t only focus on those subjects in the here and now of 2019, but I will go back through my old January photo files from the past as well. It’s a fun and creative way for me to approach the never-ending dream of getting “caught up” on memory keeping.
I’ll start off with some past layouts that center around these themes.
Now that I motivated myself by remembering that I can actually scrapbook (lol), I decided it was time to whip up a few pages. I started by searching my Google photos for snow. I was excited to find this fun batch from 2010 that I haven’t scrapped yet. I downloaded them all and found some cute cards in my files from Simple Stories and whipped up this page in the Project Life app. That’s my darling daughter back when she was 14 years old. ❤️
I still don’t have all of my photos loaded into Google photos so that was the end of my search there. I did a search on my external hard drive and found a lot of pictures I had forgotten about, but nothing that I was ready to tackle yet. I decided to focus on goals as a topic and I started looking through my recent photos. I was inspired to document some of my son’s current goals and I found the perfect cards in the Project Life Project 12 January 2019 edition. I love how this turned out!
I have to admit that I wouldn’t have made either one of these pages without this theme prompt. I will also keep my eyes open for opportunities to scrap these subjects throughout the month. If you are looking for some motivation, you might also enjoy scrapping with the seasons! ❄️
