Ideas for Capturing December Memories

December is a wonderful month to focus on memory keeping because there are so many opportunities to capture both the festive and the everyday moments. It’s a time of year when traditions, celebrations, and little joys come together to create something truly special.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to document the holiday season:

1. December Daily Projects

December Daily albums are a great way to focus on telling one story each day throughout the month. You can keep it as simple or as elaborate as you like, and it’s such a meaningful way to document the small and big moments of the season. Even if you don’t complete a page for every single day, the stories you do capture will become treasured keepsakes.

2. Photo Walks

Take your phone (or camera) and go for a walk to capture the sights of the season. Holiday lights, decorated storefronts, and wintery landscapes create beautiful and festive photos. Don’t forget to snap some candid shots of your family or friends enjoying these moments with you.

3. Holiday Recipes

Cooking and baking are a big part of this time of year, so why not document your favorite holiday recipes? Take photos of the ingredients, the process, and the finished treats. You could even include the recipe in your scrapbook or journal—it’s a great way to preserve those traditions for future generations.

4. Everyday Moments

Remember, December isn’t just about the big events. Everyday life still happens, and those moments are just as important to capture. Whether it’s a cozy movie night, a snowy morning, or even the chaos of wrapping gifts, these stories are worth remembering too.

5. Traditions and Rituals

Document the traditions and rituals that make the holiday season special for you.. It could be decorating the tree, writing holiday cards, attending festive events, or a daily advent calendar. Or maybe it’s a certain movie or TV show. Capturing these meaningful activities helps tell the story of your unique holiday season.

Your holiday memories are worth preserving. There’s no right or wrong way to do it—have fun and let your creativity run wild.

I hope your December be filled with joy and creativity!
