Easy magnetic photo collage board

My longtime followers will probably remember my large photo board from our last home. I put it together about 7 years ago and loved looking at it every single day. When we moved to our new home in February, I knew that I would want to continue on the tradition, but also make it a little easier to update as time went on and I wanted to swap out for some newer photos. I’m so excited to show you how it all turned out!

  1. I started with a blank magnetic chalkboard. This one was custom framed for us to fit the space above Alex’s desk, but did you know that most chalkboards and whiteboards are magnetic? There should be lots of easy and even inexpensive options for this project!

  2. I ordered 4x4 square photos from Persnickety Prints. They can add the white border for you and you can even crop the photos right as you order them. Super easy!

  3. I found these magnetic and self-adhesive squares by X-bet magnet on amazon and it saved me a lot of time instead of peeling off poster tape. I used 4 squares per photo. Just a note that if you put them on the corners like I did, some of your photos will lift off the surface a bit if you overlap them on each other. That is the look I was going for, but if you want them all to lay flat, be sure to space out the photos a bit.

  4. Now Alex and I have a big board of photos to enjoy as we sit in our office. It hangs right above his desk. Some of the photos are not very visible since they are behind his monitor, but I filled in that space anyway since you can see them when you stand to the side of his desk.

Definitely one of my most favorite projects!
