Almost time for Your Month End July Roundup

With only a few days left in July, I'm starting to think about my monthly roundup. Before we turn the page to August, I like to spend a little time gathering the moments I want to remember while they're still fresh. A little preparation now makes documenting the month much easier later.

If you've ever sat down to create a monthly roundup and wondered where the month went, this is a great time to do a little memory gathering. Scroll through your photos, check your calendar, and think about the games you played, books you read, creative projects you worked on, family time, and all the little moments of fun that filled your month.

You don't need to write everything down. Just capture a few notes while they're still fresh. I've found that it's often the smallest moments, the ones that seem ordinary at the time, that become my favorite memories to look back on later.

Pay attention to the playful moments

As July comes to an end, notice the moments that made you smile. A family game night. A favorite book. A creative project. A funny conversation. If you catch yourself thinking, I want to remember this, take a photo or jot down a quick note. These are the everyday moments that tell the story of your month.

Take a few photos if you haven't already

Before the month is over, look for a few moments that capture what play looked like in your life this July. It might be a favorite game, a creative hobby, a book you enjoyed, a LEGO creation, a family game night, or simply something that made you laugh.

You don't need a perfectly planned photo shoot. Just capture a few everyday moments while they're happening. Those simple photos will help bring the stories, conversations, and feelings of this month back to you when it's time to put your roundup together.

Make a few quick notes

Before July is over, take a minute to write down a few things you don't want to forget. Maybe it was a funny thing someone said, a game everyone loved, a book you finished, a creative project you started, or a small moment that made you smile.

Don't worry about writing complete sentences. A few words, a short list, or even a note in your phone is enough. Those little reminders make it so much easier to remember the stories behind your photos when you put your July roundup together.

Use what you already share

Your social media posts can be a great memory keeping tool. Instagram captions, stories, and even comments can help jog your memory. Scrolling back through your posts at the end of the month often brings back details you might have forgotten.

If you share weekly updates or small moments online, you are already doing part of the work. Your roundup just brings it all together in one place.

Keep it simple

Think of roundup prep as collecting little clues from your month. Save a photo, jot down a thought, make a quick note about something meaningful. Those small details become surprisingly helpful when you're ready to reflect back on the month.

I will be sharing the roundup reminders and prompts at the end of the month.
