Let’s catch up
I’ve been working hard on several upcoming projects, so that means that I’ve fallen a bit behind in my blogging. I feel like I need a couple of catch-up days. Does anyone out there remember my old “catch-up” posts where I also included an image of a ketchup bottle? Let’s do one of those to get back on track!
I signed up for a course on Grammar and Punctuation with my son Alex. It’s a four-week course, but we finished it in about two weeks. Alex has a real knack for grammar, and I got my degree in English so we figured it would be pretty easy for us. We both learned new things and were surprised at how much we learned. Alex has decided to work toward an Academic Writing specialty certificate, and I told him that I would be happy to take the same classes with him for support. The cool thing is you can take any of these classes for free from Coursera.org, and they have many excellent courses from some of the best universities around. Of course, if you want to earn a certificate or a degree, there are fees, but they are very reasonable.
If you are like me, the news is probably bringing you down. I’ve been enjoying The Week’s Good News (I subscribe to the newsletter). It’s nice to feel good after reading the news!

Did you know that Pantone’s color of the year is Very Peri? They chose a bright shade of periwinkle blue that they say "symbolizes the future," …"(It) has that sprightly, joyous attitude that we're talking about, that carefree confidence, and creative spirit." I went through a phase in college where periwinkle was my favorite color, mostly because I loved the name. I wouldn’t list it as one of my favorites these days, but it’s a fun color overall.
