Preparing for Your Month End June Roundup

With only one week left in June, I'm beginning to think about my monthly roundup. Before we move into July, I like to spend a little time gathering memories while they're still fresh. If you take a few small steps now, that will make the actual documenting much easier later.

If you've ever sat down to create a monthly roundup and struggled to remember what happened, this is a great time to do a little prep work. Scroll through your photos, glance at your calendar, and make note of any adventures, outings, favorite places, or memorable moments from the month.

A few minutes now can make a big difference when you're ready to put your memories together. And as I've learned over the years, it's often the small details that are easiest to forget and the most fun to rediscover later.

Pay attention to the memorable moments

As June winds down, notice what feels meaningful, interesting, or worth sharing. If you catch yourself thinking, I don't want to forget this, take a photo, jot down a note, or save a screenshot. These are the illustrations of yoru everyday life.

Take a few photos if you haven’t already

This is a great time to look for the details that help tell the story of your June. Maybe it's a favorite place you visited, a meal you enjoyed, a road trip playlist, a beautiful view, or a special souvenir..

If there's a moment, experience, or adventure that feels important, take a photo of it now while it's still fresh in your mind. The goal isn't to create perfect photos. It's simply to preserve enough of the story that you'll be able to remember how this month felt when you look back on it later.

Make a few quick notes

Before the month slips away, take a minute to write down a few things you might want to remember. A favorite place you visited. A meal that stood out. Something that surprised you. A funny story from a road trip or adventure.

Don't overthink it. A few words or a simple list is plenty. Future you will be grateful for those little reminders when it's time to put your June roundup together.

Use what you already share

Your social media posts can be a great memory keeping tool. Instagram captions, stories, and even comments can help jog your memory. Scrolling back through your posts at the end of the month often brings back details you might have forgotten.

If you share weekly updates or small moments online, you are already doing part of the work. Your roundup just brings it all together in one place.

Keep it simple

Think of roundup prep as collecting little clues from your month. Save a photo, jot down a thought, make a quick note about something meaningful. Those small details become surprisingly helpful when you're ready to reflect back on the month.

I will be sharing the roundup reminders and prompts at the end of the month.
