Great resource for photo ideas
Whenever I run into a great online resource, I always get excited to share it with my readers here. I was checking out the Shutterfly site recently and I found this wonderful page of photo ideas.
A little about my digital designing history
I started designing in 2006. My first shop was at A Cherry on Top where I sold word art and idea files. I soon moved into designing papers and elements as well. I also sold at The Digi Shoppe and Natural Scrapbooking Designs (both are closed now). I took a break from designing from 2009-2012 while I focused on writing and scrapbooking, and later came back to it as mainly a template designer for a few years. I later added on pocket cards, printables, and some paper packs. I can’t seem to get it out of my system! I currently sell my products in my own shop at katiethecreativelady.com
Chatbooks for easy Instagram scrapbooking
I finally got around to trying Chatbooks and I think they are a fun way to create easy photobooks from your Instagram feed. I wouldn’t use them as my main form of memory keeping, but they now have a place on my shelves and in my heart.
Art journaling and some creative decisions
I’ve decided that I really can’t go very long without some digital art journaling. It really does feed my creative soul. It’s funny because the style I use for art journaling is very different than the one I use in my general scrapbooking and even in my designing. Maybe that is why I need it so much.
My January 2019 roundup
My January roundup is all finished. How about yours? It’s easy and will only take a few minutes so don’t put it off any longer.
It's time for your January roundup!
At the end of January of 2006, I started doing a monthly roundup to recap what happened in the previous 31 days. Thirteen years later and I’m still doing this simple little exercise each month! This has been the most useful memory keeping tool I have ever used.
My workspace
It’s been quite some time since I blogged about my workspace so I thought it would be a good idea to share some recent photos and details. I don’t have a large office, but it’s very functional and I love it. We took an extra bedroom on the main floor of our home and turned it into a shared workspace for me and our son Alex. This is where the magic happens folks!
A little bit about me
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about who I am and what I do. I have an “About Katie” page here on my blog but I don’t think many people stop to visit that. Here are a few more tidbits about my life that I haven’t shared there.
Momento App - the easy way to automate a journal and document daily life
I’m going to start off by apologizing to Android users because this is only available in the Apple app store. If you have an Apple device, you are going to want to download the Momento app because it is a game changer! This is the tool that I have been looking for to help me document my life in a really easy way!
Why I take the Goodreads challenge each year
I have participated in the annual Goodreads reading challenge each year since 2016 when I gave myself a “talking to” about the state of my reading habits. I plan to keep this up from now on because it has made a real difference in my life. I’m sure I wouldn’t have read most of these books last year if I hadn’t committed to the goal of reading 24 books in 2018.
One Little Word for 2019 - Story
One of the things I most look forward to about a new calendar year is choosing a new word to focus on. I’ve been following Ali Edwards’ inspiration of choosing one word to guide my year since 2008.
