Valentine crafts and foods
I’ve had Valentine's designs on the mind (hint, hint, check back here tomorrow!) so I thought it would be fun to share some creative ideas here. Valentine’s Day is only about 2 weeks away now so this is a great time to work on projects! Also, be sure you are subscribed to my newsletter because when I send it out this Friday, there will be a fun and free Valentine’s surprise in it. ❤️
Definitely time for some humor
I think after the past few weeks, we all deserve some humor. Maybe that’s why the Bernie mittens memes are going crazy right now. We all need a laugh! Let’s start the week off right with a little fun.
Live Life Colorfully
I love finding creative people who inspire me and I’m excited to share a new find with you today. Meet Jason Naylor, author of Live Life Colorfully and a really cool artist whose mission is “to spread color and positivity across the globe.”
My word for 2021 - Joy
I’ve been following Ali Edwards’ inspiration for choosing one word to guide my year since 2008 and this has become a tradition for everyone in our family. This is the first time that I have been the last one to choose my word. My husband Jeff picked Onward. My son Alex picked Change. My daughter Riley picked Steps. All great words! I have to admit that I have NOT felt like picking a word. It just hasn’t clicked for me this year.
A new approach to setting goals - be kind to yourself!
Coming out of the year that changed everything, it’s no surprise that I’m feeling a little different about setting goals than I have in the past. I’ve always been an avid goal setter and that has helped me accomplish and achieve a lot in my life. I still believe in the power of goals and will continue to set them, but I’m going to embrace some new attitudes that I think will be beneficial and more satisfying.
Prepping for a creative new year
Back when I was a co-host of The Digi Show podcast, I mentioned that the last week of the year is one of my favorite times. The other hosts were very surprised by this! I think many people have some letdown after Christmas and feel a little lost in the space between holidays. Both my husband and I have learned to cherish this time. He usually takes the week off and we both focus on getting set up for the new year.
How about a little holiday humor?
I think it’s time for a little laughter! I love collecting little funny bits to share here with my readers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Christmas Trees to Remember - 2020
My longtime readers know that I have had a tradition since 2013 of doing a different themed Christmas tree each year. We started this tradition when we moved into our new house and had room for a really big 12 foot Christmas tree! It ended up being a really big project each year, but also a fun one. We would have neighbors stop by just to see our tree. Of course, it’s something I’ve been thinking about all year since we moved into our new home in February. I got rid of the 12 foot tree since I don’t have a spot for it in our new place. I’ve been excited to downsize the tree project! …
Christmas crafts and printables
I’m going to spotlight a few more printables and share a few crafts today since so many will be holiday decorating this weekend. Remember that I have all my Thanksgiving and Christmas designs on sale this week!
Printables are great for easy and very inexpensive festive touches. This Happy Little Trees Printables is one of my very favorites. I think it looks so cute next to these little bottle brush trees.
