A Little Shaken - Pandemic + Earthquake
On top of the global pandemic we are all living through, we woke up to a 5.7 magnitude earthquake last Wednesday (March 18, 2020). We’ve had more than 200 aftershocks since then but we’ve only felt a few of those. I know my California readers are probably used to this, but it was quite a surprise for us and probably felt a bit more dramatic seeing as how we are all already on edge with everything else that is happening.
The Coronavirus hits Utah
On Wednesday (March 11th) evening, the Coronavirus became very real for the state of Utah when one of the Utah Jazz players tested positive for the virus. Rudy Gobert tested positive right before the tip off of the game against the Oklahoma Thunder and Donovan Mitchell tested positive yesterday. We finally get 2 All-Stars again and then this happens! This sped up the inevitable and resulted in the canceling of the NBA season for now. Other sports have followed suit as well as churches and many other organizations in the state and the country.
On my way to meet somebody new!
I’m heading off on an airplane today to meet a new man. Actually, a very tiny, newborn man! My brother Mike & his wife Fiona are having a baby today. Alex and I are joining my parents on a quick trip to Nevada for a few days.
Onboarding
Have you ever heard of the term onboarding? It’s a word that has popped into my mind recently because I feel like I’m still in the onboarding stage of 2020.
Welcome 2020
A new year means a clean slate and a fresh outlook. This is true for me personally, and also for my blog. I love the time of year when one calendar closes and the next one begins. So much to recap and savor. Even more to look forward to!
What August looked like
It’s funny how some months seem to have a color theme. Without even trying, I ended up with a lot of photos with yellow and gold in them which happened to work out perfectly with my calendar and month cards. I swear I didn’t plan it that way! Here’s what August looked like in my world:
the month that was
I’m always grateful for my monthly roundup habits and my favorite way to use these prompts is right on a scrapbook page. I love adding details to my THIS MONTH cards and putting them all on a page with photos and a few fun cards to make it complete. Here’s what July looked like:
My May Roundup
I’m so grateful that I started this layout early in the month and kept adding to my journaling cards as the month progressed because as I reached the end of May, I didn't feel like working on this project. I think it’s important to carve time for creative projects when you have the energy to work on them.
Here’s a little glimpse of my past month:
Will Spring ever arrive?
Hi. I’m still here. I bet you didn’t even know I was gone for a bit. I’ve been out of town for a week helping my daughter with a few things and getting in a nice visit with her and her husband. Alex came along as well (broken leg and all). We are back for a somewhat routine week of our lives that seem to be anything but routine these days.
