Are you ready to capture Thanksgiving memories?
No matter what your Thanksgiving celebration will look like this year, it’s worth documenting. Make sure you have your camera and take photos of everyone you spend the day with. Document where you ate the Thanksgiving feast and who was there to celebrate with you. We already had our Thanksgiving feast in October so we are planning to order takeout Chinese food, and watch some shows and movies. That’s worth documenting also!
Thinking about documenting December
I’ve never done a full December Daily album or made it through a daily documenting of the month of December. I have definitely created a lot of holiday layouts with plenty of December pages. I’m honestly happy with the approach I’ve taken over the years and I’m grateful for all of the December memories I have taken the time to document. Even if I don’t totally follow along with the full December Daily idea, I get a TON of inspiration from watching what others are doing.
Halloween Inspiration and Ideas
Halloween is almost here and if you are like me, you are looking for easy ways to make it more festive. Here are some of my favorite resources and ideas:
The benefits of an early Thanksgiving celebration
My entire family came to visit a few weeks ago and we celebrated an early Thanksgiving together. This is a new tradition we established a few years ago and I love having our gathering in October instead of the usual Thanksgiving weekend. I’ve always thought the Canadians had the right idea by celebrating in October and now we do that too. It’s less expensive for those who want to fly because it’s not peak travel time. It’s less crowded on the roads, and the weather is usually much better than late November. I also like that it puts more space between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I posted a reel of our Thanksgiving table and shared a few details here. (turn the sound on for the music)
Have a Creative Autumn
The first day of Fall is on September 22nd this year. That also happens to be my daughter’s birthday and she is one of those ladies that lives for Autumn. It is my favorite time of year as well and I love the cozy feeling of slightly cooler weather. I’m lucky to live in a place where we are nearby to many canyons full of trees with changing leaves.
I also like the more settled feeling of Fall. With kids back in school, most people are on more of a regular schedule. Of course, this year isn’t exactly normal or settled in any way - but I guess we can still find ways to appreciate the season. Here are some fun links you might enjoy:
#createanddocumentmemories - St. Patrick's Day edition
I’ve been thinking about why I love documenting memories so much and it has a lot to do with my love of creating memories. They go hand in hand for me. If I’m going to put in the work to create some special memories, I want to make sure that my family and I remember them. I’ve been trying to find a hashtag on Instagram where I could connect with others who love creating and documenting memories as much as I do and I’ve had a hard time finding the right one, so I created my own. I’m going to use #createanddocumentmemories when I post about making or recording memories. Feel free to use it as well. I’d love to develop it as a community!
Lucky Me collection, free gift, and inspiration
Release day is a big deal around here and this new collection is one of my personal favorites. March is my birthday month so I love St. Patrick’s day theme items. We don’t usually do much for St. Patrick’s day, but I love to include these festive touches on my pages and projects throughout the month. I’m excited to reveal the new collection here with you and also share some ideas and inspiration for creative projects.
Valentine crafts and foods
I’ve had Valentine's designs on the mind (hint, hint, check back here tomorrow!) so I thought it would be fun to share some creative ideas here. Valentine’s Day is only about 2 weeks away now so this is a great time to work on projects! Also, be sure you are subscribed to my newsletter because when I send it out this Friday, there will be a fun and free Valentine’s surprise in it. ❤️
Christmas Trees to Remember - 2020
My longtime readers know that I have had a tradition since 2013 of doing a different themed Christmas tree each year. We started this tradition when we moved into our new house and had room for a really big 12 foot Christmas tree! It ended up being a really big project each year, but also a fun one. We would have neighbors stop by just to see our tree. Of course, it’s something I’ve been thinking about all year since we moved into our new home in February. I got rid of the 12 foot tree since I don’t have a spot for it in our new place. I’ve been excited to downsize the tree project! …
