a few little housekeeping items
I’ve had a few technical issues behind the scenes that I’ve been trying to work out and this post will be a bit of a test to see if they are all resolved. When I have to work on the techie behind-the-scenes stuff, it’s harder to find time to focus on the fun and creative content so I’m really hoping this will all do the trick. If not, I’ll keep trying!
Focus on less
A lot of creative people struggle with trying to focus on too many things at once. I’m definitely guilty of that because there are so many different projects I want to work on! I guess that is why this quote really resonated with me.
Valentine crafts and foods
I’ve had Valentine's designs on the mind (hint, hint, check back here tomorrow!) so I thought it would be fun to share some creative ideas here. Valentine’s Day is only about 2 weeks away now so this is a great time to work on projects! Also, be sure you are subscribed to my newsletter because when I send it out this Friday, there will be a fun and free Valentine’s surprise in it. ❤️

Using a digital template to create a vision board
You’ve probably seen the templates that I have designed for digital scrapbooking. I use them all the time for scrapbook layouts, but I was so excited when my daughter Riley used one to create a vision board for her 2021 goals.
My word for 2021 - Joy
I’ve been following Ali Edwards’ inspiration for choosing one word to guide my year since 2008 and this has become a tradition for everyone in our family. This is the first time that I have been the last one to choose my word. My husband Jeff picked Onward. My son Alex picked Change. My daughter Riley picked Steps. All great words! I have to admit that I have NOT felt like picking a word. It just hasn’t clicked for me this year.
A new approach to setting goals - be kind to yourself!
Coming out of the year that changed everything, it’s no surprise that I’m feeling a little different about setting goals than I have in the past. I’ve always been an avid goal setter and that has helped me accomplish and achieve a lot in my life. I still believe in the power of goals and will continue to set them, but I’m going to embrace some new attitudes that I think will be beneficial and more satisfying.
Prepping for a creative new year
Back when I was a co-host of The Digi Show podcast, I mentioned that the last week of the year is one of my favorite times. The other hosts were very surprised by this! I think many people have some letdown after Christmas and feel a little lost in the space between holidays. Both my husband and I have learned to cherish this time. He usually takes the week off and we both focus on getting set up for the new year.
