My July 2020 roundup

July was a tough month for us because our daughter Riley and her husband Ryan suffered a miscarriage. I share this with their permission and I think it’s very important to check with others before you include sensitive details about their lives. It can be difficult to know if you should include the really hard stuff sometimes. I always believe in including the good and the bad, but there are times when that isn’t possible or even comfortable. I’m grateful that Riley encouraged me to include this and how strong she is. Miscarriage is a very painful thing to go through (emotionally and physically) and having never gone through that myself, I’m glad that there have been others who could step in and tell her they know exactly what she is going through.

Obviously, July was hard for many other reasons such as the ongoing pandemic and difficult national events. I’ve never been so reliant on news sources to complete my monthly roundups, but I know I’m going to always be grateful to have these events documented. And life still goes on. We order pizza. We watch movies together. We work (from home) and we go on with our new routines. At the end of the month, I put it all together and call it a roundup. Have you done yours yet?

I like to put all the details on digital scrapbook pages. Here’s what our month looked like:

Information and Supplies:

  • The templates are my own design and I will eventually release them in a template pack in my shop.

  • The coronavirus timeline is a free download from Persnickety Prints. I’m so grateful for what they are doing with these!

  • The “This Month” card is from this set in my shop. Journaling font is Myriad Pro Regular.

  • I created the Utah Numbers card with information I have researched. Font is Orator Std. Medium.

  • The states map and increasing cases graphic are from the New York Times.

  • The decorative pocket cards are from In A Creative Bubble

  • Other pocket cards from Soco Designs

I hope you will take a few minutes and do a roundup for the month of July. Even if it seems hard, you will be so glad you documented this time.
