Coping through Humor
Thank goodness for the funny content that the internet is giving us because it’s keeping me going right now! I’ve been saving funny images and sending them to friends and family members and they often return the favor. Here are a few of my favorites:
Bullet Journal Ideas and Printables to Keep Your Life on Track - Free Printables
Over the past couple of years, there has been a running trend of an organizational hack called bullet journaling. People have found success in various areas of their life by mastering this style of journaling. I’ve seen a lot of pins and hacks online for using this type of journal to help you through hard times as well so this is a great time to give it a try!
Coronavirus printables and documenting supplies
I shared my own COVID-19 free printable and pocket cards here last week and I’m happy that so many of you have already downloaded them. I am pleased to see several other designers and scrapbookers offering downloads and supplies to help us all document these crazy times. I thought I would share a few with you here so you can be sure to add them to your memory keeping toolbox.
Katie in the Kitchen
I’ve wanted to post about some topics like meal prep, cooking, and my favorite recipes and foods for quite some time, but I’ve decided that now is the exact right moment to get going on this. I have spent a lot of time lately planning, procuring, and obsessing about food because of the COVID-19 pandemic. My mom and I were discussing this yesterday and we came to the conclusion that everyone is feeling a lot more insecure about food in general. Of course, we are among the lucky ones that didn’t already have food insecurity. Now with record unemployment numbers, many more people are living through those fears. My heart goes out to anyone who is struggling with food right now. For now, I’m hoping my readers will enjoy seeing how I’m tackling our food and meal needs.
Fun photo projects to work on at home
While the world stays home, this might seem like a tough time to practice your photography skills. So many photo projects involve traveling, beautiful scenery, or portraits of people. There are so many things to photograph all around us though and this is a great time to get creative with your camera or phone.
My March 2020 roundup including COVID-19 Coronavirus
I’m ready to share my March 2020 roundup page and show you how I used the new supplies I posted about this morning.
The end of March means it's time for a roundup - even in a pandemic
More than ever before, I’m grateful for my routine of rounding up the month. Although I have to admit that this one is going to be a doozy! I’m going to use the resources I posted about yesterday to help me recap the news.
I usually love the month of March because it’s my birthday and wedding anniversary month as well as the start of spring. This year March brought a lot of terrible news as well. Nothing like a worldwide pandemic to scare us all!
Including Covid-19 in your personal documenting
I’m going to post my regular March roundup prompts tomorrow, but I feel like we all need some extra resources for recapping what is going on in our world right now. This is definitely the most difficult topic I’ve ever posted about and I’ve struggled with this for the past few weeks. I’ve always been an advocate of including the good and the bad in our stories, but this is just soooo bad on so many levels. It’s up to you how much you want to include in your personal documenting, but I would encourage you to at least include a few details. This will be one of the most historic and memorable times of our lives and it is worth including in our journals, scrapbooks, blog or social media posts. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the things that are positive as well.
A Little Shaken - Pandemic + Earthquake
On top of the global pandemic we are all living through, we woke up to a 5.7 magnitude earthquake last Wednesday (March 18, 2020). We’ve had more than 200 aftershocks since then but we’ve only felt a few of those. I know my California readers are probably used to this, but it was quite a surprise for us and probably felt a bit more dramatic seeing as how we are all already on edge with everything else that is happening.
