Prepping for a creative new year
Back when I was a co-host of The Digi Show podcast, I mentioned that the last week of the year is one of my favorite times. The other hosts were very surprised by this! I think many people have some letdown after Christmas and feel a little lost in the space between holidays. Both my husband and I have learned to cherish this time. He usually takes the week off and we both focus on getting set up for the new year.
Setting Goals
If you are looking for some goal setting encouragement, I have a fun new collection that will do the trick! Celebrate your goals and set yourself up for success with these cheery supplies in your scrapbook, craft, and printable projects.
Holiday eats and treats
I’ll admit that one of my favorite things about the holiday season is the treats and goodies. I love cookies so this is a great time of year for me. I even hosted a neighborhood cookie exchange each year when I was a young mom. That was a really fun thing to do! I won’t be baking for a big crowd this year, but I still plan to make some of my favorite recipes. I'm always on the lookout for new ones as well so I’m using this post as an excuse to link up to some festive foods that look delicious.
Documenting December Memories
For me, the joy of scrapbooking comes with documenting everyday memories. It’s fun to do holiday pages, but I love the simple moments that come with ordinary life. I guess that’s why I love memories that happen throughout the month of December. Regular life still goes on, but against a festive backdrop. Of course, this year is an exception. I feel like 2020 will always have an asterisk by it - like *2020 and then we will have to include an explanation. Still, even though we aren’t doing much… there’s a tree up in the house so that makes it festive. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it!
In the meantime, I’m having fun going back through past photos and creating holiday pages. I thought it would be fun to share a few here today.
My November Roundup
Before I get scrapping December moments and memories, I told myself I would get my November roundup completed. It helps me to set these types of mini-goals or conditions to hold myself accountable. November was definitely a tough month, but I’m so glad to have it documented!
How about a little holiday humor?
I think it’s time for a little laughter! I love collecting little funny bits to share here with my readers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Christmas Trees to Remember - 2020
My longtime readers know that I have had a tradition since 2013 of doing a different themed Christmas tree each year. We started this tradition when we moved into our new house and had room for a really big 12 foot Christmas tree! It ended up being a really big project each year, but also a fun one. We would have neighbors stop by just to see our tree. Of course, it’s something I’ve been thinking about all year since we moved into our new home in February. I got rid of the 12 foot tree since I don’t have a spot for it in our new place. I’ve been excited to downsize the tree project! …
New Year Collection + layout
I’m definitely ready for a new year and I’m betting most everyone feels the same way! I had so much fun creating this New Year Collection and I’m excited to share the details with you here today. Before I get to all the previews, I thought you might enjoy seeing one of the layouts I created with this collection.
December layouts and projects
December has so many great opportunities for festive photos and memories. Even though I’m not out shopping (online baby!) and going to events this year, I’m still feeling the spirit of the season by working on fun projects at home. I’ll be documenting those memories as well, but I also am taking advantage of this time to delve into some past folders of photos and do some scrapbooking. I’ve been having fun with my new December Moments collection.
