A little bit about me

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about who I am and what I do. I have an “About Katie” page here on my blog but I don’t think many people stop to visit that. Here are a few more tidbits about my life that I haven’t shared there.

I grew up in Utah and I still live here. I think it’s a great place to live. I’m married to Jeff who I have been friends with since I was only 12 years old. It’s fun that we have known each other for so long and have so many shared memories. We have 2 children.

Our son Alex is 25 years old and he has high functioning autism. He is currently going to school at a local community college and thinks he might want to be a paralegal someday.

Our daughter Riley is 22 and just got married last August. She going to school and she also works part time helping people with special needs. She is married to Ryan (25) who fits in perfectly with our family. He has a degree in history and is working full time.

I keep busy with being “support staff” for my family and working on my blogs, designs, and creative projects. I go with Alex to school a few times a week and I hang out in the study area while he is in class.

A few interesting facts about me:

  • I love to travel but hate to fly

  • Cookies are my favorite food

  • I like to be organized and I don’t even mind cleaning (too much)

  • I love to read

  • I’m sort of a homebody and an introvert, but I can hold my own at parties and in social situations. My husband is extremely outgoing so we balance each other out in a good way.

  • I love the Utah Jazz and watch most of the games at home with hubby. We also go to a few games at the arena.

  • I have type 2 diabetes, ischemic colitis, and trigeminal neuralgia. I’m actually in pretty good health overall though and have been able to manage all of these things with diet and medications.

  • I have a college degree in English with a minor in Anthropology.

  • I will be turning 50 years old this March.

  • I collect LEGO minifigures and LEGO sets, globes, books, postcards, and memories.

Have you taken the time to write down a few facts about yourself somewhere? Be sure to share them with your family and friends. They will appreciate getting to know you better! ❤️
