June Focus: Travel and Adventure
Adventure begins when we choose to explore. It grows when we pay attention to the world around us, stay curious, and say yes to new experiences. Sometimes those experiences become unforgettable vacations. They can also be simple trips to familiar places.
This month, try noticing the places you go, the things you discover, and the memories you make along the way. Pay attention to the details that tell the story. A favorite view. A ticket stub tucked into your bag. A meal you enjoyed. A funny sign on the side of the road. The excitement of arriving somewhere new.
Every journey has a story worth telling. Whether you’re exploring another country, visiting a nearby town, or simply looking at your everyday surroundings with fresh eyes, there are memories waiting to be documented.
Reflection Questions for June
Use these prompts when you want to slow down, look around, and appreciate the adventures that are already part of your life.
What is one adventure you would like to take this month? (or in the near future)
Think about something realistic and doable, not necessarily a big trip.
What destination holds special memories for you?
Consider what makes that place meaningful and the stories connected to it.
What is your favorite travel memory?
What details stand out when you think about that experience?
Where would you love to go someday?
What draws you to that place, and what would you hope to experience there?
What does adventure mean to you right now?
Your answer may be different than it was a few years ago, and that’s part of the story.
Creative Ideas for Memory Keeping
Here are a few easy ways to bring the theme of travel and adventure into your memory keeping this month.
Create a page about a favorite trip
It could be a big vacation or a simple day trip that still makes you smile.
Document an adventure close to home
A local park, a new restaurant, a museum, or a place you’ve never explored before.
Make a list of places you would love to visit someday
Include why each place appeals to you and what you hope to experience there.
Gather travel memorabilia
Save tickets, brochures, postcards, receipts, maps, or screenshots from your travels and include them in your projects.
Create a page called “Recently Explored”
Document places you’ve visited, discoveries you’ve made, or new experiences you’ve had this month.
Add a Travel-Inspired Touch
If you enjoy using digital supplies, my Travel & Adventure Collection was designed to help you document the places you go and the memories you make along the way. You’ll find maps, travel icons, luggage tags, pocket cards, and patterns inspired by exploring near and far. The collection works beautifully with the coordinating pocket cards, patterned papers, solid papers, and tags. For the best value, take a look at the big bundle.
As you go through your adventures this month, pay attention to the places you visit and the experiences that stand out. They don’t have to be big trips or bucket-list destinations. Some of the best stories come from a day spent exploring somewhere new, a favorite local spot, or an unexpected discovery. Take a few photos, save the details, and notice the moments you want to remember. I’ll be sharing more ideas throughout the month to help you stay connected to the theme.
