Craft a Creative Life You Love
I read Craft a Life You Love by Amy Tangerine back in 2019. I decided to pick it back up again this month since it is such a great fit with the theme of creativity. I’ve followed Amy’s work for several years, but I didn’t know much about her background or how she got started in the scrapbooking industry. Her story is fascinating and her philosophy on crafting is so refreshing. I felt so inspired after I read this book that I ordered another copy and sent it to my daughter.
3 Creativity Quotes to Inspire Your Creative Life
A good quote can remind us to keep going, try something new, or stop putting pressure on ourselves to make everything perfect. I love collecting creative quotes because they often say something simple that sticks with me long after I read it. Today I wanted to share three creativity quotes that feel especially meaningful right now.
May Focus: Creativity
This month has a bright and playful energy, and it is the perfect time to explore creativity in simple everyday ways. Creativity does not have to mean big projects or perfect results. It can be small, gentle, and personal. It can be the way you take a photo, jot down a note, arrange a meal on a plate, or choose colors for your planner.
Creativity grows when we give ourselves permission to experiment and play. This month, try leaning into curiosity. Notice what inspires you. Pay attention to ideas that make you want to make something, even if it is tiny. Creativity often shows up in moments when we relax, follow a spark, or try something without worrying about the outcome.
Love Your Ups and Downs and Letting Go
I’m wrapping up the last two chapters of my book club's selection of A Book That Loves You: An Adventure in Self-Compassion. I decided that these two chapter topics, Love Your Ups and Downs and Love Letting Go, were great to combine, and so this will be my final post about this book.
Love Your Idle Time
The minute I started reading Chapter 5 of my book club's selection of A Book That Loves You: An Adventure in Self-Compassion, I started thinking about cats. I’m not sure there is another creature that enjoys their idle time as much as a cat does. And sure enough, this chapter was filled with images of cats. Obviously, the authors agree!
Love Your Unique Mind
I finished chapter four of my book club's selection of A Book That Loves You: An Adventure in Self-Compassion. This was my favorite chapter so far, and the content was so meaningful!
Love Being Alone
I’m exploring chapter 3 in my book club's newest selection of A Book That Loves You: An Adventure in Self-Compassion. This chapter is about loving alone time, which is really not a problem for me. I think because I was an only child until the age of 12, I feel pretty comfortable with being alone. I know that isn’t the case for everyone, though.
Love Your Imperfect Body
I just finished Chapter 2 of my book club's selection of A Book That Loves You: An Adventure in Self-Compassion. It's such a fun book because it’s filled with great advice and fun activities that you can pull out of the book and use for creative projects.
The chapter topic is Love Your Imperfect Body, and it was such a timely subject for me to explore. I had surgery a few weeks ago…
Love Your Active Brain
I finished the first chapter of my book club's newest selection, A Book That Loves You: An Adventure in Self-Compassion. Diving into this beautiful book full of creative activities is so much fun. I included the introduction and chapter one for my first “assignment.” I removed some of the pages for a vision board project. I love that I can deconstruct this book!
