My word for 2022

I feel like my year has gotten off to a slow start. My daughter and her husband got colds at Christmas and were unable to travel to see us for the holidays. They were well enough to join us on January 5th and we finally had our Christmas with them on that date. Then we celebrated a belated New Year’s on January 6th. Better late than never! I’m finding that the date on the calendar doesn’t mean that much these days. It’s more important to just enjoy the moments when you get them.

Now on January 10th, I finally feel like my holiday season is over and that I’m ready for the new year. I also finally was able to choose my One Little Word for the year. Hooray! I’ve been following Ali Edwards’ inspiration for choosing one word to guide my year since 2008 and this has become a tradition for everyone in our family. I had a really hard time choosing my word this year, but I have finally figured out that I want the word PURPOSE as my guide for 2022. I started thinking about how I want this word to be a part of my life and I decided that I would turn some quotes into images. I found the inspiration for these in various places that you can find by following the links on my One Little Word Pinterest board.

I’m feeling happy about the word purpose and excited to have it as my inspiration this year. I love this tradition of picking one little word each year and I’m glad that my family has all embraced it as well. I hope you will consider choosing a word or a few images to use as a guide for the year. It really makes a difference!
