The Coronavirus hits Utah
On Wednesday (March 11th) evening, the Coronavirus became very real for the state of Utah when one of the Utah Jazz players tested positive for the virus. Rudy Gobert tested positive right before the tip off of the game against the Oklahoma Thunder and Donovan Mitchell tested positive yesterday. We finally get 2 All-Stars again and then this happens! This sped up the inevitable and resulted in the canceling of the NBA season for now. Other sports have followed suit as well as churches and many other organizations in the state and the country.
Saying farewell to a long February
We had an extra day of February thanks to Leap Year so I almost forgot to post the roundup prompt! You think I would have been extra prepared with an additional day on the calendar. February has been a good month in our family as we’ve been settling into our new home, but it’s also been a long and tiring month as well. Just like any other month, it’s been filled with good and not-so-good. That’s life and that’s why I love doing roundups to keep track of all of these details.
Do yourself a favor and start (or continue!) to do a monthly roundup this year. You will be so happy with the end result!
Keeping track of the news
I’ll admit that the news has me a bit spooked right now. This week has brought a rapid spread of Coronavirus cases throughout the world and the Dow Jones had it’s biggest drop in history yesterday. I’ve always been one who believes in including the details of the world around me in our family documenting, but I have to admit that this is no fun to report on!
Famous Scrapbookers and Scrapbooks
Have you ever wondered if famous people scrapbook? Have you ever looked through any historical scrapbook albums? Scrapbooking is a way to document history - your own personal history as well as events going on around you.
Getting in the picture
I have an ongoing struggle with getting myself in our photos. I keep resolving to improve in this area and I will most likely need to remind myself again. Thankfully, Ali Edwards posted a fun little challenge this week and I plan to try my best to follow along.
laugh it up
I’m sure glad to be in February now! We are starting to get settled in our new house and I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel of boxes. I’m hoping to make some big progress over the next few days so I’m hoping a few giggles will give me the boost I need.
The first roundup of 2020
I started doing monthly roundups in January of 2006 and I’ve been going strong ever since! This tool is easy to use and is the most useful way to keep track of everyday life. Think about all that has happened in the last month. Do you really think you will be able to remember it all? I always kid myself by thinking that I can remember such details, but it just isn’t possible. I’m always amazed when I read back through my past roundups to realize how many tidbits would have been forgotten if I hadn’t written them down.
Do yourself a favor and start (or continue!) to do a monthly roundup this year. You will be so happy with the end result!
On my way to meet somebody new!
I’m heading off on an airplane today to meet a new man. Actually, a very tiny, newborn man! My brother Mike & his wife Fiona are having a baby today. Alex and I are joining my parents on a quick trip to Nevada for a few days.
My best reading year on Goodreads
I had my best reading year so far since I started using Goodreads to track my books in 2016. I’m so glad I have this tool to keep my accountable to myself for my reading goals. I have always been a bookworm, but lost track of my love of reading for a few years because of my focus on so many online activities. Now I’m careful to keep this part of my life a bigger priority.
