Christmas Trees to Remember - 2021

I have an annual tradition of sharing our Christmas tree here each year. I’ve been doing this since 2013, which was the first year I started changing the theme of our tree each year. If you want to peek at the previous years, here are the links:

I decided to keep things easy this year and just use all of the same decorations from last year’s tree. I still love the colors and theme and I already had everything purchased and ready to go. But how to handle the annual blog post? I decided that this would be the year that I would share our cabin tree! Yes, we have a cabin and we have a tree there too. We bought the cabin in 2016 and we spent Christmas there without a tree. We decided that needed to change so over the next year, I bought a tree (I think it’s 9 feet) and several ornaments. I got several of them from Pottery Barn and a few from Amazon. I knew I wanted a cabin themed tree. When Riley returned home from her mission, we spent the next Christmas (2017) with her at the cabin and we all decorated the tree together. It’s still a really fun memory!

After Christmas, we decided to keep the tree decorated and just wrapped it in plastic - which was more difficult than we thought it would be. Then we stored it in the garage for the rest of the year. It’s been nice to have it all ready to go so that if we get a chance to visit the cabin in December, we can easily put the tree up to enjoy, even if we aren’t spending Christmas Day there. That’s just what we did this past weekend. We went for a 4 day stay and enjoyed the tree the entire time. We won’t be spending Christmas there this year, but we feel like we had a great Christmas-y cabin stay.

I still want to add more ornaments to the tree. We talked about it being a tradition to add new ornaments each year, but somehow we’ve forgotten about that. I’ll have to remember to be on the lookout! In the meantime, it’s a happy tree full of good memories for our family.

I think it looks especially pretty at night! I also took some closeup shots of some of my favorite ornaments.

I also have just a small handful of decorations to put out on our shelves.

I know we are very lucky to have two great Christmas trees in our life. Double the festive fun!
