New book club selection - Steal Like An Artist
It's time to announce my book club's newest selection, and I can’t wait to talk about this book. I read it a few years ago, which changed my outlook on creativity. It’s very short but really impactful. I hope you will join me in reading it and putting some of the ideas to work in your own life.
Book Club Discussion - The Art of Making Memories
I haven’t forgotten about my book club, and I’m happy to finally be able to report on this book. I chose The Art of Making Memories by Meik Wiking for the latest selection, and I read it all the way through and then listened to it on audiobook. I love it when authors narrate their own audiobooks. It’s so much more meaningful to hear it in their own voice.
New book club selection - The Art of Making Memories
It's time to announce the newest selection for my book club, and I'm excited about this one. I chose The Art of Making Memories by Meik Wiking. It's a great book that's available in several formats. Please note that one of the Amazon links for this book needs to be corrected for the Kindle version and shows a different title. This link will lead you to the correct version for all formats. I notified Amazon's customer service department, who told me they would fix it soon.
Designing Your Life - Part 2
I’m glad I chose Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans for the first selection of my new online book club, Books to Inspire Creativity. It was a great read to begin our creative journey together, but it also helped me as I’ve been thinking about how I want to manage this book club in the future. I feel like this was an exercise to try some ideas, and I will build on this experience for future selections and discussions.
Designing Your Life - Part 1
Books to Inspire Creativity is the name of my new online book club, and I have noticed so many more details about the creative process since beginning the first selection. We are starting with the book Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans.
A new online book club to inspire creativity
I’ve always loved the idea of belonging to a book club, but it’s been hard to work that into my schedule, especially when my husband was always traveling for work. I have a lot more flexibility now, but I’m finding that I want to participate in a book club for creative people.
My favorite online tools to help me stay organized
There are so many great websites and apps to help us be productive and stay organized. It’s entirely possible to spend all of your time working on researching and optimizing these resources, and it can be pretty overwhelming. However, I’ve found that year after year, I have a few favorites that I always use. These are my go-to tools for keeping life organized and manageable.
My word for 2023 - STEPS
Do you pick a word for the year? Ali Edwards has inspired me to choose One Little Word every year since 2008. It’s become a really special tradition and every member of our family chooses their own word as well.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023
I review the newest Adobe Photoshop Elements program each year when it is released in the fall. Unfortunately, this year, the release hit the same weekend as our Family Fall Fest, and with that and everything I’ve had going on with my leg, I haven’t gotten around to sharing my thoughts here yet. My apologies! I hope this will be helpful for you now as you prepare to purchase holiday gifts and get ready for a new year of creative projects.
