My word for 2024- Enjoy

Do you pick a word for the year? Ali Edwards has inspired me to choose One Little Word every year since 2008. It’s become a really special tradition, and every member of our family chooses their own word as well.

My word for 2024 is enjoy. It took me a long time to settle on this one, but I’m happy with it now. I always put a lot of pressure on myself to do something big with my word, and I realized that I need a more gentle word this year. I will work hard and accomplish a lot no matter what word I pick. The big “thing” I want to focus on right now is remembering to enjoy what I’m doing. Enjoy my life. Enjoy the amazing people around me. Just take it all in and savor it.

I picked a simple quote to use as inspiration.

“In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.”

―Gordon B. Hinckley

I also turned to the dictionary for some words to help me explore what I want the word ENJOY to mean for me.

The good news is that I’m off to a great start. We are currently in Hawaii and it’s very easy to remember to enjoy life when you are surrounded by scenes like this one.

Now I just need to learn to enjoy the snowy weather I will return home to. But that’s part of the journey I want to embark on this year. I want to enjoy the beauty of life but also the everyday and simple moments.

If you are still looking for ideas, here’s a list of my past words.
